چکیده

Abstract Water pollution results from rapid urbanization and industrialization which has harmful effects on human health. Adsorption is one of the most efficient processes to remove pollutants contaminated water. Natural minerals, such as dolomite, are widely spread around world may be easily collected in huge quantities. In this work, dolomite was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) with energy dispersive analysis (EDX) Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), investigated for its applicability removal methylene blue (MB) aqueous medium a surfactant-assisted procedure. Using one-factor one-time approach, batch adsorption studies were performed establish best experimental conditions (pH, sorbent amount, shaking time, type concentration surfactant ionic strength) MB dolomite. At optimum (pH 8.0, time 90 min, 1.0 g L −1 0.1% w/v sodium dodecyl sulfate, 25 °C), maximum capacity 22.2 mg process obeyed Langmuir Freundlich isotherms. The findings show that effectively adsorbs used less expensive wastewater treatment MB. Graphical

Removal of methylene blue from aqueous solutions using modified clay

Introduction: Discharging of industrial colored wastewaters especially into aqueous environments can cause adverse effects on aquatic life due to their toxic natures. In this study, montmorillonite modified by hexadecyltrimethyl ammonium bromide (HDTMA-Mt) was used for the adsorption of methylene blue (MB). Materials and Methods: The influence of surfactant loading rate, contact time, pH, adso...
